We are excited about the Introduction to First-Aid workshop scheduled for April 30. There is no fee associated with this program though we do ask that consideration for a donation of $1.00 to St. John Ambulance be given. Please send all cash donations to the school on April 29th. Thank you.
Weekly Highlights:
Students~
- explored proper fractions, fraction benchmarks, fractions of a set and worked on finding the fraction of each set of objects using double-sided counters. The class did an excellent job with the latter concept. Up to this point, a review of all these concepts is recommended at home.
- started working on their healthy meal plates in health class using the flyers brought from home. Thank you for sending the flyers! Students can print pictures at home to glue onto their plates.
- looked at shared responsibilities between the three levels of government and were asked to consider the qualities of a good leader. We will explore the role of Elders and Band Councils in government this week.
- looked at the use of rocks in our daily lives in science and continued learning about Earth Day concepts through literacy activities.
