Moments in Time

Regina 100 Years Ago

Students are taking part in the 10-Day Mindfulness Challenge. Although we will complete the challenge next week, we are planning to integrate mindfulness into our daily routine to help us focus and reset for learning.

Weekly Highlights:

Students~

  • read a non-fiction text about blue whales and worked on identifying and recording the main ideas and key details from the selection.
  • learned about other strategies for multiplying and using patterns in a chart to multiply. Students had some fun learning ways to multiply by 9. Ask your child about them!
  • started a new unit in health on healthy eating and physical activity.
  • learned more about mimicry and camouflage in science. We started researching how Regina looked over 100 years ago and whether the changes that have occurred are natural or caused by humans.
  • took part in the 10-Day Mindfulness Challenge and responded to each session's focus by writing in their journals.
  • participated in French class, Arts Ed., and Phys. Ed. with their corresponding teachers.
  • report cards and Term 1 folders were sent home.
